Caunton Engineering is to supply the structural steelwork for the new office block for major German Discounter, Aldi. This is the second phase of Aldi’s £70m investment in their Atherstone, Warwickshire Headquarters.
The steelwork itself for the two storey office block comprises over 400te of mainly cellbeam-and-column structural framing and also includes a Galvanised Plant Enclosure and a Glazed Entrance Box.
Caunton is working directly for DSP Construction Management. This successful company is based in the old Fort Dunlop building in Birmingham now so excitingly renovated. The steelwork design is by Bristol-based consulting engineer Craddys, with Caunton designing the connections.
Caunton is delighted to be serving the booming retail sector so frequently, where Aldi are proving such as success.
