Caunton Engineering’s Executive Chairman Simon Bingham was invited to speak at the recent International Conference on Technological Innovations in Nuclear Civil Engineering – or ‘TINCE’ held in Paris-Saclay this August.
Simon was speaking about Caunton’s experience and involvement in the Innovate UK funded R&D project we know as Steelbricks (shown in photograph). A special session was put on focusing on Steel Concrete Structures and Chaired by Professor Amit H. Varma of Purdue University, USA. Other speakers included Dr Bassam Burgan of The Steel Construction Institute who talked of past and present work going on in this area in the UK; Saahas Bhardwaj, also from Purdue University delivered a talk on the US Design Guide 32 and Julien Niepceron of EDF who described their forthcoming project to build the first full scale Steel Concrete Composite Building in Europe.
