SEGRO has announced that it has let its reused and relocated, steel-framed building in Slough!
Originally built in 2000, this 3,290m2 commercial building was disassembled and re-erected on a new site on the Slough trading estate. The building was relocated to make way for a new steel bridge over the GWR train line. The project took just 11 months to dismantle and rebuild. The entire steel frame, along with curtain walling, precast planks, plant and raised access floor, were reused yielding a 25% cost saving and a 56% embodied carbon saving relative to a comparable new build.
Proof that steel buildings can be economically relocated and reused!
