Wind Analysis Toolkit

2016

SCI has produced three software components which form the ‘Wind Analysis Toolkit’. The software may be licensed for use in software applications to analyse peak velocity pressure and loads on walls and roofs and displayed in a 3D interactive graphic.

  • Wind360 calculates the peak velocity pressure in 12 directions around the site. This component considers the site altitude, distance from the sea, terrain category and orography. A satellite image of the site assists in the manual input of shielding and separation distances, if needed.
  • WindPlus takes the output from Wind360 and calculated loads on the walls and roofs for four orthogonal directions, if the building orientation is known. WindPlus covers a range of building types.
  • ZoneViewer presents the data from WindPlus on a 3-D interactive graphic.

Wind360 and WindPlus are web-based components which may be utilised in web software, desktop applications or spreadsheets (internet access required). Zone Viewer uses Windows applications.

Full IT and technical support is provided by SCI.
