Vision Volumetric Gains Certification

SCI is delighted to announce that Vision Volumetric are the very first company to meet the requirements of SCI’s certification scheme for their three dimensional modules 🎉

SCI is a UKAS accredited certification body No. 10414 with two current schemes – covering prefabricated steel-based modules and prefabricated steel panels.

Vision Volumetric have undergone a rigorous formal examination of their modules against a set of defined product requirements. The certification process involves detailed examination of the structural design, constituent materials, detailing, and an audit of the manufacturing process. Meeting the requirements of SCI’s scheme is a demanding standard and Vision Volumetric deserve recognition for achieving certification of their product.

Vision Volumetric produces three-dimensional modules for assembly into buildings, currently up to 50 storeys, typically used for hotels, residential apartments, and student accommodation. The modules feature concrete floors, steel walls, and ceilings, with a variety of internal finishes depending on their final use.

The certification scheme accredited by UKAS covers the product which leaves the manufacturing facility, which are the individual volumetric units. To cover the design of an entire building, SCI has a second scheme, not accredited by UKAS. SCI’s building design scheme is a similarly rigorous set of requirements examining the design process for entire buildings, covering such things as stability, robustness, acoustic performance, thermal performance, fire resistance and durability. Vision Volumetric have also met the requirements for this second scheme, meaning the full scope of Vision Volumetric’s system has been examined by SCI.
